Call Me Mister

A Little About Ourselves:
Call Me Mister is a program focused on increasing the diversity within the classrooms. A
​co-hort of young African American men are chosen to participate in this incredible opportunity to eventually step into low income schools and have an impact on future generations. Our hope is for the men who come through this program will instill respect and dignity into the lives of their students. The focus is on low-income schools who need the encouragement of a diverse teaching staff in order dream for a similar future for themselves

Louisiana Tech University became the first college in the state of Louisiana to implement the Call Me Mister program.

​Call Me Mister Includes:

  • Tuition assistance through Loan Forgiveness programs for admitted students pursuing approved programs of study in teacher education at participating colleges.
  • An academic support system to help assure their success.
  • A cohort system for social and cultural support.
  • Assistance with job placement.
