"Being a part of the TEAM model afforded me the opportunity to be in a school environment from August to May. Although this was a daunting task, I never felt alone. Through the TEAM model, I had a team of people behind me to support me every step of the way. Claiborne Parish has welcomed me with open arms and has treated me as a seasoned teacher from the start. I am so grateful that I have had the opportunity to grow as a teacher in a parish that provides the resources in order for me and my students to succeed. |

"I was incredibly blessed to get to be a part of Tech's TEaM, I learned so much in that year of residency. My mentor was not only a teacher that helped me, but she turned into a very close friend that I have gotten to share my own teaching experiences with in this first year. Louisiana Tech's TEaM model made it to where I was never alone, I always had someone to call or text when I had questions or when I had just had a trying day. Now in my first year as an educator in Claiborne Parish, that feeling of never being alone is still there. I was so lucky to get on in Claiborne Parish. I have been treated as an equal, not a newbie with no experience. One main thing that stands out about Claiborne Parish to me is that it is a small, close knit group of people that I feel like I can talk to and ask questions and give input. In the first few months of school I was stunned by all the people checking on me and making sure I was comfortable and doing well. I am so glad that I accepted this job and am now able to call Claiborne Parish my team!" |
