Welcome to the TEaM...
Welcome you to the TEAM! The TEAM Model was designed in the spring of 2015 to establish a research-based clinical residency program for Louisiana Tech University’s College of Education. Through state-funded programs such as Louisiana Believe and Prepare, Tech’s TEAM model is now THE most successful clinical residency program in Louisiana!
The CRC opened its doors in August 2015 in Woodard Hall 214 to provide a constant source of support for all members of the TEAM (Teacher Educators and Mentors) Model. Each day after school hours, the CRC provides professional development, supports teaching concerns, and listens to any issue that may arise during a full-year clinical residency program. |
From the moment of placement, our clinical residents have the opportunity to learn from a full TEAM of educational experts specifically trained to scaffold the clinical residency experience. A clinical residency program is much, much more than a traditional student teaching experience. Think of is as a slinky stretching as far as your arms can reach to provide you with a slow, more realistic time frame to grow professionally into a confident, experienced, and very prepared teacher. Since August 2014, more than 25 volunteers in our early childhood/elementary programs piloted the clinical residency. In 2016, 100% of all early childhood/elementary candidates are participating in a full-year experience. In 2015, five secondary majors volunteered to pilot a full-year clinical residency, and 100% of all middle/secondary candidates will participate in a full year experience in the fall of 2017.
Through our redefinition of university/district partnerships, we are all working toward a common goal, to provide the great state of Louisiana with outstanding future teachers. At any time, the CRC is here to support any TEAM member in anyway. We look forward to a wonderful year growing professionally together. Thank you so much for your service to our profession. Let’s bring prestige back to education…one outstanding new teacher at a time! |
