What is UTeachTech?
Louisiana Tech University no longer offers undergraduate degrees in Secondary Math or Science Education. Instead, undergraduate students wishing to teach STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) subjects in middle or high school major in a STEM content field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering) and minor in Secondary Education. This is UTeachTech. UTeachTech provides students with more skills and more potential career paths than a STEM degree or an education degree alone would provide.

The UTeachTech Program at Louisiana Tech University offers you the opportunity to try teaching while you pursue the STEM degree of your choice.

- Earn up to 15 hours of honors credit.
- Increase your career options.
- Develop highly marketable career skills, including communication, collaboration, and leadership, that are crucial in any job.
- Expand your horizons by taking classes with students outside your major.
- Join the UTeachTech student group, FETCH, which offers social events and community service opportunities.
- UTeachTech Master Teachers will be with you each step of the way as you decide if teaching is right for you.They are experienced science and math teachers who know what it's like to teach in Louisiana middle and high schools.
- Your first two UTeachTech courses (Step 1 and Step 2) are tuition reimbursed and give you a chance to try out the program with no commitment.
- Share your love of science and math with the next generation.
- Join the UTeachTech family and get the support and resources you need to be successful in college and beyond.
- After you graduate and get your first teaching job, UTeachTech Master Teachers will support you as you begin your teaching career. They will provide resources and professional development training and will be on call for you as you take all that you learned in the program and implement it in your teaching.
